Research-proven schoolwide literacy system
Every child can learn to read.
Every teacher can help them.
Success for All gives schools the complete system to make it happen.
Most schools have literacy materials. What they're missing is everything built around those materials — the routines, coaching, leadership structures, and data practices that make strong reading instruction consistent in every classroom, every day. That's what Success for All does.
Implemented in rural, urban, and suburban schools — including public, charter, and private schools across 30+ states.

More than a curriculum.
A schoolwide approach that makes strong instruction consistent.
Many schools have literacy curricula, interventions, and professional development in place. They're still seeing uneven results — not because their teachers aren't working hard, but because those pieces don't work together.
Since 1987, Success for All has helped schools replace fragmented literacy efforts with one coherent schoolwide system. The result: teachers know exactly what strong instruction looks like, leaders can see it happening in every classroom, and students get support before small gaps grow into larger ones.

Why reading results get stuck
- and how SFA helps.
Most literacy solutions tell schools what to teach. Fewer help schools build the conditions that make strong instruction consistent, supported, and sustainable.
Problem
Solution
Literacy efforts are fragmented.
Curriculum, assessment, tutoring, and professional development operate separately — and teachers are left to connect the pieces on their own.
SFA brings the essential pieces together in one coordinated schoolwide literacy system. Everything works together from day one..
Instruction is too uneven across classrooms.
Students can have very different reading experiences depending on the classroom they’re in and the support their teacher receives.
SFA builds shared routines, coaching, and evidence-based practices that make strong instruction more consistent across the school.
Intervention comes too late.
When Tier 1 instruction isn't strong or consistent, schools respond with more intervention — and still don't close the gap.
SFA strengthens Tier 1 instruction and focuses on prevention. Assessment every 8 weeks, flexible regrouping, and tutoring aligned to classroom instruction help schools act early — before small gaps grow into larger ones.
New initiatives don't stick.
New literacy programs often begin with energy, then fade when schools are left to carry the work alone after rollout.
SFA provides a dedicated coach, leadership routines, and schoolwide data practices that help the work sustain in every classroom, year after year.
How Success for All works.
Every child can learn to read. Here's how SFA helps schools make it happen.
Strong structured literacy instruction every day
A proven instructional process — grounded in reading science, learning science, and implementation science — helps teachers deliver explicit, active literacy instruction across every grade. Students read, write, discuss, practice, and learn together every day through structured cooperative learning.
Early support matched to student need
Assessment every 8 weeks, flexible regrouping, and tutoring aligned to classroom instruction help schools respond before small gaps grow. Schools aren't guessing. They aren't waiting.
A schoolwide system built to last
Leadership routines, team structures, data practices, and a dedicated SFA coach help schools implement well, and keep improving over time.

Developed at Johns Hopkins University and validated through decades of independent research, including studies by the University of Michigan, MDRC, and Evidence for ESSA. SFA is one of the most extensively researched whole-school literacy models in the country with results that replicate across contexts — rural, urban, suburban, high-poverty, diverse.
What this looks like in real schools.
Success for All has helped thousands of schools in rural, urban, and suburban communities – public, charter, and private – strengthen reading instruction and improve outcomes. These stories show how the model works in real schools, and what changes when teachers, leaders, and students are working from the same approach.
Steubenville City Schools, Ohio - 25 years of partnership.
Four elementary schools in one of Ohio's highest-poverty districts. All four outperform the state average by 20–35 points. Researchers have called Steubenville, “One of the best school districts in the country.”
Archdiocese of Los Angeles (ADLA) - Growth in one trimester
ADLA began full implementation of Success for All in 2025-26. Across 30 schools, the percentage of students reading at or above grade level rose from 45% to 54% in a single trimester - 243 more students reaching grade level.
Hynes Charter School - Parkview Campus
Hynes Charter Schools has implemented SFA since 2003. Parkview joined the Hynes network in 2021 as the lowest-performing school in its district. By 2024, it had achieved a 39-point increase on Louisiana's School Performance Score system.
The support to make this
work schoolwide.
Schools don’t need one more initiative that starts strong and fades. Success for All works alongside leaders and teachers well before day one – through planning, training, and launch – and stays embedded through ongoing coaching and schoolwide data routines.
Every school gets a science of reading aligned curriculum, tutoring, data routines, leadership support, and a dedicated SFA coach. Implementation support is tailored to your school's goals, staff, students, and needs.

Scholarship support
For Title I eligible schools — public, private, and charter — up to $100,000 in School Success Scholarship support may be available to help offset first-year implementation costs.
