Teachers and leaders review student progress and determine the next instructional or support response.
Repeat the cycle
Between formal assessments, teachers continue monitoring learning through daily and weekly evidence—including fluency, comprehension, strategy use, partner work, and student responses—so a student who is struggling can be noticed and supported before the next assessment cycle.
Instruction follows mastery.
During Success for All's protected reading block, students are grouped according to their current reading mastery so teachers can provide focused instruction and practice at the level students need.
Those groups are not permanent.
Every eight weeks, progress is reviewed and students can move as their skills grow. A student who is accelerating does not have to wait until the next school year to move forward. A student who needs more time receives instruction and support matched to what they need now.
The goal is simple: keep every student moving toward successful, independent reading.
